The Lasinthos Eco Park
Welcome to a unique ecological park on top of Lassithi Plateau!
With respect to the preservance of the environment, we offer our guests an unmatched experience of the ways, the customs and the ethics of the traditional Cretan way of living.
The long-established ways to create products by hand, harvest the fertile land, and treasure the customs passed from generation to generation is the sould of the establishment.
Visitors of Lasinthos eco-park are given the chance to come closer to nature, take raw materials like, wood, wool and clay and learn how to manufacture everyday prodcts and tools through traditional ways, reap and taste the fresh gifts of mother earth and learn how to cook and enjoy the true Cretan cuisine.
Apart from the love of nature and its gifts, the Orthodox Christianity religion played a great role in the history of Greece. Therefore, a church of saint Ephraim is placed in the center of the park to pay respect and light a candle in the memory of friends and family.
The most reknown acquaintance of Crete is the hospitality of its locals. The Eco-park offers a unique establishment of 15 apartments furnished in traditional ways to resemble houses of a typical village.
The animal farm and the fields
Half of Lasinthos extent is dedicated to the animal farm with many native animals being hosted in the park premises and fields of endemic fruits, vegetables and aromatic plants.
The guests have the chance to know the various breeds of animals that live here, like the Kri-Kri goats and the ponies.
In addition to their nature experience, several fields of fruits and vegetables, which are able to harvest if the time is right and use in one of their dishes, and aromatic plants which are transferred to the Aromatic plant laboratory in order to be dried or take their essence in a form of a perfume.
The Orthodox Church of Saint Ephrem
A building in the most reknown position at the Lasinthos eco park is the church dedicated to Saint Ephrem. One the most newfound saints of Greek Orthodox Chistianity church, is known for his martyrdom due to his rejection to embrace islam and his thaumaturgic acts, most known of which is the discovery of his body. Light a candle to pay respect to the memory of lost persons or wish for health and prosperity.

All the traditional products made in any of the Lasinthos eco park's laboratories is sold here.
Guests will have the chance to buy herbs and perfumes of local plants, dehydrated or made in the aromatic plants laboratory. Extra virgin olive oil, raki, honey and wine produced inside the Park and the surroundng areas are offered for sale.In addtion, hard to find Cretan traditional sweets from must and grape molases is packed and sold in our shop.
Visitors will also find bowls, cups, and clay decorative items created from the pottery lab, bags and clothes of woven and knitted fabrics from the loom lab and wooden carved items from the wood-carving lab.
A selection of Cretan natural products from local producers is also sold here such as Cretan cheese, rusks and olives infused with several flavors. Products based in olive oil such as hand cremes or sunscreens are also for sale.
Most of the items sold are safe-to-fly or able to send all over the world on request. Perfect gifts for friends and families that wraped up with the history of many generations of Cretan locals.
